Float Trips & Expeditions
Taimen Float Trips
Our float trips are one of our most popular options and rafts are certainly the best way to access the most remote reaches. Each full-frame raft is equipped with front and rear casting seats and is rowed by one of our guides, enabling you to fish drift-boat style from the raft. However, many of our guests prefer wading to fishing from a drift boat, so we have slowed down the pace of our float trips to give more wading opportunities; the emphasis is on the fishing not the floating, using rafts for pool-to-pool transport.

Floats may only be 5-miles a day, and we often include a layover day mid-trip to spend more time on prime pools. Camping is comfortable, with individual tents or 3-person mountain tents for two to share, a dining tent, camp chairs and tables, toilet tent and simple shower. Meals are just as good as at our ger camps, except with the omission of a few oven-baked treats.
Fly Fishing Expeditions
In addition to the float trips and Taimen camps we occasionally organize more adventurous expeditions. Typically these expeditions involve overland travel to the river in our 6WD Russian army truck, followed by a couple of days horse packing (hiking or riding) into the headwaters of the river system, then floating back downstream for several days fishing. These expeditions enable us to access the remoter parts of the rivers providing excellent adventure angling.
